Movie Review : Cycle {Marathi}


चित्रपटाची गोष्ट सोपी हवी ... सादी हवी... मोठी कलाकार नसतील तरी चालेल; आणि संगीत किंव्हा गाणी नसेल तरी चालेल. ह्याच्या बरोबर जर अभिनय, निर्देशन पण सुरेख असलं तर मग अजून काहीच नको चित्रपटामध्ये. अशीच एक  गोष्टं आहे आजच्या चित्रपटाची - एक सुरेख साडी सोपी गोष्टं. कोणच्याही बिंदू कडून पाहिलं तरी एकाच विचार येतो मनात : उत्कृष्ट! उत्कृष्ट मराठी चित्रपटांचा यादीत सायकल ह्या चित्रपटाचं नाव आपोआप शिरलं ....



गोष्ट खरंच सादी  आणि सोपी आहे : दोन ओळी ची गोष्टं! एका चांगल्या माणसाची सायकल चोरीला जाते. चोर त्या सायकली वर सगळी कडे फिरतात .... आणि त्यांचा चोरी चा इरादा बदलतो .... एवढीच गोष्टं आहे.... इथे आपण बघू गोष्टं म्हणजे काय असतं : गोष्टी मध्ये कलाकारांचं संपूर्ण चित्रण, गोष्टी चा काळ, ज्याला इंग्रजी मध्ये अपण बॅकग्राऊंड आणि सेटिंग म्हणतो. हे सगळं मिळून बनते एक उत्कृष्ट गोष्टं! आजच्या गोष्टी मध्ये काळ आहे १९४८-१९५२ कडचा. त्याकाळी सायकल म्हणजे छोटी वस्तू नव्हे! सेटिंग आहे गावमधली - हे फारच महत्वाचं. कारण शहरात माणसं माणुसकी विसरतात .... आणि ह्या गोष्टी मध्ये माणुसकी, माणसांचे आपसातले संबंध,माणसातला सादेपणाचा फारच महत्व आहे. ह्या गोष्टी शहराचा कोलाहलात कुठे भेटणार? खरंतर सायकल नुसतं निमित्त मात्र ठरतं - हा चित्रपट माणुसकी, सादेपणा, माणसातले नाते आणि त्यांच्या आपसात गोडवा चा आहे. ह्या वस्तू शहरात नाही भेटत - हे तर शंभर टक्के!

तर सुरु करू या हा प्रवास. गावात राहणारे एक चांगले मानलेले ज्योतिषी असतात केशव नावाचे : ननिर्मळ सादे आणि स्वच्छ स्वभावाचे, खरं तर दैव पुरुष म्हंटलं तरी चालेल. लोकांना आपणहून मदत करणारे, स्वच्छ राहणारे, अल्पसंतोषी अँड खरंच चांगले माणूस. त्यांची एक आवडती सायकल असते - हे जवळपासच्या सगळ्या गावामध्ये प्रसिद्ध आहे. आता त्याच गावात दोन चोर येतात, मंदिरातून चोरी करून, आणि केशव राव ची सायकल सुद्धा! आता हे चोर जिथे पण जातात, कयसाले ओळखली जाते, केशव भाऊ ची म्हणून! चोर जिथे भटकतात तिथे त्यांना मदत करणारी लोकं पुढे येतात... वाचायला ते स्वतःला केशव मास्तरांचे भाऊ म्हणून ओळख सांगतात. मग काय? सगळी लोकं मदती ला पुढे! ह्या संपूर्ण प्रसंगात त्या चोरांचं मन हळू हळू बदलणं सुरु होतं ... हि आहे खरी खुरी गोष्टं ...

इतकी सोपी गोष्टं घेऊन चित्र निर्माण करणं फारच कठीण आहे. कारण चुकी करता थोडी पण जागा नसते : एक एक मिनिट, एक एक सीन निट  निघायला हवं. कुठेही चूक होता कामा नाही. हा जादू आहे निर्देशन, लेखन, स्क्रीनप्ले चा. गोष्टी च्या सादेपणा मध्ये, त्याच्या सुरेख मनमोहक लाटांमध्ये  आपण सगळे हरवून जातो आणि अशे गुंतून जातो कि २ तास कशे निघतात कळतच नाही. सगळ्या पात्रांचा असा सोपा निर्मळ व्हवहार आणि खरं प्रेम बघून मन त्यांच्यातच कुठेतरी स्वतःला विसरून जातो - हॉल मधनं बाहेर पडताना आपलं मन तिथेच थांबून राहतं : त्याच गावात. हा आहे खरा जादू ह्या चित्रपटाचा!

जर अपण कलाकारांच्या अभिनय बाबत काही बोललो नाही तर खूप चूक ठरेल; अभिनय - तेही अश्या साध्या गोष्टी मध्ये फार कठीण असतं. आपल्याला कंट्रोल ठेवावा लागतो - नाही तर hamming किंव्हा ओव्हर acting वाटली असती. सगळ्या कलाकारांनी खूपच अव्वल अभिनय काढला आहे - पण ह्या मध्ये हि भालचंद्र कदम आणि मुख्य पात्र म्हणजे हृषीकेश जोशी ह्यांनी फारच उत्कृष्टपणे आपापली भूमिका पार पाडली. आणि इथे एकदा अजून कथानकाचा वर्णन गरजेचं आहे. कारण असं कि अभिनय चा एक मुख्य आधार असतो व्यक्तिचित्रण {characterisation}.  एकेक पात्राचं चित्रण इतकं सुरेख मांडलं आहे - इतकं सुरेख चित्रण खपू वर्षानंतर बघायला मिळालं!

संपूर्ण चित्रपटाचा आधार ठरतो स्क्रीनप्ले - ह्यात काहीच वाद नाही. पण अपण संगीत ला विसरणं चूक ठरेल : कारण ह्या पूर्ण वैभवाला सजीव करतं   संगीत. गाणं एकच - तेपण छोटं, पण खूप सुंदर. पण खरा सर्वात जादू आहे पार्श्व् संगीताचा - मनाला मोहणार सुरेख... आपल्या लाटांमध्ये आपल्याला घेऊन घेणारं संगीत! संगीत चित्रपटामध्ये नॅच्युरल वाटतं - ही  सर्वात मोठी गोष्टं! म्हणजे गोष्टं, स्क्रीनप्ले, निर्देशन आणि संगीत मिळून एक माळ बनते ... अशी माळ जी मनाला गुंतवते, फसविते  आणि जिला विसरणं अशक्य! हे चित्रपट वाट्टेल तितक्यांदा आपण बघू शकतो ... खूप गोड, खूपच सरळ आणि खूप मोहक चित्रपट!

Book Review : Chhatrapati Shivaji

Chhattrapati Shivaji stands as one of the most celebrated medieval heroes in Modern India; it is a name that touches a chord in almost every Indian, and is a powerful force to reckon with even today, three centuries after his death. Book Review - Stay Hungry Stay Foolish by Rashmi Bansal

This is the first Rashmi Bansal book I am reading, and I have to admit that her writing makes for an interesting read. Stay Hungry Stay Foolish is a very interesting and diverse collection of stories of Entrepreneurs – I wont say Case Studies, as the focus is on the individual rather than the company, the Brand or the strategy employed. And this is just about the only negative I can spot in an otherwise near-flawless book on Business in India. A worthy addition to any regular reader on Business, rated 4 stars. THE BOOK The book’s collection of Entrepreneurs is subdivided into 3 interesting heads : The Believers, The Opportunists, The Alternate Visionists. The first – the Believers – consists of examples of Entrepreneurs who went into Business straight after their MBA: the Opportunists went into Business when opportunity presented itself; and the third group – those with creative intent or social causes at heart.
