अपण एकटेपणाला इतकं घातक किंव्हा काळजी ची गोष्टं कां समजतो? ठीक आहे, माणूस समाजात राहतो; समाज हा माणसाचा फारच उत्कृष्ट अविष्कार म्हंटलं तरी चूक नाही. पण ह्या गोष्टी चा हा अर्थ नाही के एकटेपणा वाईट असतो. तो वाईट आहे कि नाही हा   प्रत्येक माणसाचा वैयक्तिक प्रश्न पडतो. पण माणूस - मग तो कोणी कां नसो, एकटेपणाला घाबरतो - आणि कोणाला कोणच्या क्षणी एकटेपणा आवडत असेल तर हमखास लोक काळजी पूर्वक विचारतात. जे खऱ्या अर्थात आपुले असतील ते नुसतं विचारतात; बाकी लोकं मज्जा घ्यायच्या   अंदाजात किंव्हा स मनोचिकित्सकीय रोग असल्याची टिप्पणी करतात. एकटेपण हे काही मानसिक रोग नाही; त्याचे पुष्कळ कारण असू शकतात. चित्रपट व संगीत जगत चा पण ह्याच्यात फार मोठ्ठा योगदान आहे. एकटेपणाला   त्या लोकांनी एक दुःखद प्रसंगाची जागा दिलेली आहे; म्हणजे माणूस एकटा दिसला तर समजावं कि तो दुःखीच असणार! ते गाणं लक्ष्यात येतं मला : माझ्या मना आता पुन्हा शोधू नको भरती जुनी लाटा जुन्या... जोडू नको तुटला दुवा मागू नको मिटल्या खुणा... एकटा मी एकटे मन एकटी स्पंदने... स्वप्न आले स्वप्न गेले स्वप्न झाले जुने... सार...

माझं श्रीमद गीता आणि उपनिषद पासून जे शिकलो आहे, त्या शृंखलातला पुढचा लेख :   आज सव्वीस मे ... म्हणजे माझा वाढदिवस. आता प्रश्न हा येतो की हा दिवस कसा साजरा करायचा? आणि कुठे? मी पुण्यात होतो, एकटा. दिवसभर एकटेपणा जाणवलाच नाही - माहित नाहीं कां. दिवस कसा निघाला कळलं सुद्धा नाही. सकाळ ची संध्याकाळ कशी झाली आणि वेळ कुठे निघून गेला काहीच कळलं नाही. माझ्या मनात खरंतर ह्याबाबत   काही आलेच नाही. कां म्हणून असे आहे हे अजूनतरी नीट नेटकं कळलं नाही. वाढदिवस कसा साजरा करायचा ह्याची मी काही प्लॅनिंग तर केली होती - अर्धीच पूर्ण झाली. पण जितकी झाली, संतोषप्रद ठरली. अजून काय हवंय माणसाला? मन भरून पावलं कि समजायचं सगळं जग मिळालं! पुढे वाढण्या आधी मी सकाळचं एक मजेशीर प्रकरण सांगतो - माझ्यासाठी फारच महत्वाचं ठरलं. मी रोजच्या प्रमाणे सकाळी उपनिषद पाठ करत असो; सध्या महानारायण उपनिषद सुरु आहे. पहिलच पारायण. एक श्लोक मनात बसून गेला - मचकूर असा कि मी खूप मजा केली; भरून पावलो.   आता देवा मला आपल्या पायात थोडी जागा दे. {महारानारायण उपनिषद, नवमोध्यायः, श्लोक १} . माझ्या मनात, अंतर्मन...

This article has been inspired by a Whatsapp Discussion; centered around faith, and what is faith. That set my mind racing, as I, perhaps for the first time, tried to come to terms with this rather complex term. Well, upon consideration, it seems to me that   this is a highly individual matter, and would not like to make a generalisation. It was a chance meeting with Dr Ashish Tavkarr {Top Psychotherapist specializing in critical cases} at CCD Bhandarkar Road Pune that set off this train of thoughts; a look at the rising issues relating to the mind in Indian Society. This is not limited to Psychology, a hobby of mine – but extends to stress, lifestyle and mental issues. This chance meeting naturally veered to aspects to Psychological ailments that we Indians tend to suffer from. My questions to him were quite straightforward, though slightly off-the-beaten-track. चित्रपटाची गोष्ट सोपी हवी ... सादी हवी... मोठी कलाकार नसतील तरी चालेल; आणि संगीत किंव्हा गाणी नसेल तरी चालेल. ह्याच्या बरोबर जर अभिनय, निर्देशन पण सुरेख असलं तर मग अजून काहीच नको चित्रपटामध्ये. अशीच एक   गोष्टं आहे आजच्या चित्रपटाची - एक सुरेख साडी सोपी गोष्टं. कोणच्याही बिंदू कडून पाहिलं तरी एकाच विचार येतो मनात : उत्कृष्ट! उत्कृष्ट मराठी चित्रपटांचा यादीत सायकल ह्या चित्रपटाचं नाव आपोआप शिरलं .... गोष्ट खरंच  सादी   आणि सोपी आहे : दोन ओळी ची गोष्टं! एका चांगल्या माणसाची सायकल चोरीला जाते. चोर त्या सायकली वर सगळी कडे फिरतात .... आणि त्यांचा चोरी चा इरादा बदलतो .... एवढीच गोष्टं आहे.... इथे आपण बघू गोष्टं म्हणजे काय असतं : गोष्टी मध्ये कलाकारांचं संपूर्ण चित्रण, गोष्टी चा काळ, ज्याला इंग्रजी मध्ये अपण बॅकग्राऊंड आणि सेटिंग म्हणतो. हे सगळं मिळून बनते एक उत्कृष्ट गोष्टं! आजच्या गोष्टी मध्ये काळ आहे १९४८-१९५२ कडचा. त्याकाळी सायकल म्हणजे छोटी वस्तू नव्हे! सेटिंग आहे गावमधली - हे फारच महत्वाचं. कारण शहरात माणसं माणुसकी विसरतात .... आणि ह्या गोष्टी मध्ये माण...

This is a hard one to properly review; harder still to review in an unbiased fashion. For there is much that is fascinating, and some that is mildly objectionable… but given that the pluses outeweigh the minuses, I can safely state that this is a really, really good book, with a fascinating storyline and an intriguing plot. This is a plotline that defies categorization – you can call it fantasy, just as easily as you can call it a different political plotline; that choice is with you, the reader. THE BOOK It is, essentially, at the core, a book of the rise of Poltical figures through college life and college politics, and how students can get involved in politics due to a combination of circumstances. It tells the initial story of a few friends and how they fall afoul of the major political bigwig in college politics; leaving no option for them to get involved. The Tenth Avatar is yet another book in the series of books by various authors on the topic of our ancient literature and history. Good part is that each book based on these themes is different, and is not a copy or inspired or similar to the others. That speaks volumes for the imagination of the authors; credit where credit is due. This book is also, like the others, unlike any other, and is a superb piece of imaginative and interesting writing worth a one-time read. Rated 3, maybe 3.5 stars. THE RAMAYAN PART OF THE BOOK The book tells two stories – one, the story in the modern day; the other is a retelling of the Ramayan. This retelling is an interpretation of the author; there is a lot of re-interpretation of the classical tale in a form that is, well, post-modern, trying to give a scientifically palatable or acceptable interpretation of the events that took place.
