I have written on silence before – though that was on its attractiveness and allure. Several months later, having had this feeling for all of this past period of time since the previous article – I feel I am better able to articulate silence in terms that perhaps can be related to more easily. In other words – a deeper description of silence and its parameters. Yes – parameters {plural}; for silence has many sides to it; possibly limitless in number. It has many moods, shades, emotions and has a variety of flows to it; it is not stagnant, neither is it stable; it is a free flowing wind. Silence is all of the above, and more.

TYPES
OF SILENCE
Silence
is a state of mind, and can be contemplative, despondent, desperate, delighted,
ecstatic, happy, calm, peaceful, flowing, emotive and many other shades. Each
is a different, unique silence; and each type of silence is a book in itself. A
perceptive person – a truly perceptive person – can read your silence like an
open book, and understand its emotions and its depth, for silence cannot be
hidden, it cannot be disguised, and cannot be switched off at will. It is quite
possibly the strongest, most obdurate state of mind there can be.
THE
POWER OF SILENCE
Silence
is hypnotic; once you get used to it, adjusted to it – it is hypnotic in its
pull, almost addictive. And man has invented nothing quite as addictive; not
even close. That is what makes silence
both dangerous, as well as wondrous; a despondent or depressed silence, as is
well known – is nearly impossible to shake off. It pulls you in its folds,
enthralls you with its absolute stillness and numbness, and keeps you there for
as long as is feasible.
This silence, the negative
throes- is not true silence, as though the world and your inner voice is
silent, your emotions-beliefs-values-fears-desires are not. They also speak –
each emotion has a voice, a loud & clear voice. True silence means
silencing all of these. Every emotion, every desire, every
fear, every response, every reaction has a sound and a distinct voice; the
ripples these create destroy the silence, and, despite the world being silent
in terms of sound – your mind is not silent, as it is rippling with these
emotions, angers, fears, desires. True silence means silencing all of these.
Conversely,
true silence is also hypnotic in other ways, as it unlocks potential, leads to
realisations, helps heal wounds – especially mental ones, gives way to
calmness, leads to acceptance, resolve and determination, and at is zenith –
its highest point : silence leads to spiritual development and a strong rooting of yourself. It helps you face your real thoughts, and,
once you learn to suppress even your thoughts - It brings you face to face with
the true you, and helps separate the true you from the material physical you. In
the throes of true positive silence, there is no hiding away anything, and what
stares back at you is the simple atal
satya. How to get there? The gateway
to this realm of true silence is guarded by an ocean of pain… pain is the
trigger, pain is the path and pain is the solution.
CULTIVATING
A LOVE FOR SILENCE
Silence
is a state of existence, a situation of stillness, a place where nothing
exists. None of your sights, sounds,
emotions, responses, actions matter – or indeed, none of them even exist. True
silence is synonymous with resolute stillness. And achieving that for even a
short time requires a strong grounding in self control, and overcoming ego,
pride, desires, ambitions, fears, anxiety, loved ones and more. One has to rise
above the cacophony of these materialist aspects – for each of these material
things has a sound, a noise even. And quelling these sounds, these
externalities, is the only way you can
connect with the magical realm of silence…
Well expressed in words and feels connected to accept this reality
